Description

The term “Displaced Kashmiri Hindus” refers to the community of Kashmiri Pandits, the Hindu minority of the Kashmir Valley, who were forced to leave their homes in the late 1980s and early 1990s due to rising militancy, targeted violence, and threats from insurgent groups. Thousands of families fled their ancestral homes and sought refuge in other parts of India, particularly in Jammu, Delhi, and other cities.

This displacement led to significant social, cultural, and economic upheaval. Many lost their properties, jobs, and traditional livelihoods, while struggling to preserve their cultural identity in exile. Despite decades of living away from the Valley, the community continues to advocate for safe return, justice, and recognition of their historical displacement.
